Components for re-use
I work in the web team for a large company (1500+). We’ve recently developed a new Intranet using MOSS 2007. Due to poor quality training we are still climbing the steep learning curve to understand how to work with what seems to be a very unintuitive, limited and poorly designed tool. For our external websites, we use SDL Tridion R5, which employs a component based approach, where content is stored within components, and pages are made up of these components. Sharepoint doesn’t seem to work in this was, however, I would like to know if there is an OOTB way of creating the equivalent of a component that holds a list of summary links (to other SP pages) – and reuse this across the right zone of many pages. Then when I need to update/change/add/remove the links, I only have to do it once, rather than 50+ times.
