Migrating from Excel to MOSS
Hi. i'm quite interested in what kinds of challenges i'm going to have regarding taking a spreadsheet that's managed in EXCEL now, and porting that to MOSS. The spreadsheet has formulas in it that, wheh a field changes, another worksheet is updated with a number, basically like an alert that's based on the content of the initial field, but it simply updates another sheet, and no mails go out. EG, if it's higher than 4 but lower than 7, the 2nd worksheet is populated with a number. If it's 8 or higher, then the 2nd sheet is populated with a different number. Then, that 2nd sheet is reported on. I know that the alert function can be used within MOSS, but i need a bit more than that. Now for my question(s): 1) Can i do the above in MOSS right out of the box? 2) Is there a recommended site that'll explain how to do logic based operations? 3) I'm very familiar with MSACCESS. There's a lifesaving website called UtterAccess that developers of MSACCESS and many other incredible ACCESS gurus actually answer any/all questions, and provide sample databases to do just about anything. Is there a similar site for MOSS developers?? 4) Is there a facility to import an EXCEL sheet into MOSS? Welcome replies to this, as i've got a tiger by the tail on this one. The same kind of tiger i had by the tail when i was building an ACCESS solution for a previous company. Regards from Tokyo.
