In this article, we'll explain the key building blocks of SharePoint, drill down on key capabilities for growing businesses, and outline the business case.

Will Microsoft Alienate the Business Market With Windows Phone 7 Xbox Live Integration? (WMPoweruser)
An article on GigaOm (republished in part by JKontherun) claims the Windows Phone 7 story of the week, the great Xbox Live integration in Windows Phone 7, would in fact alienate “much of its business audience to pursue what may be a small niche of hardcore, community-minded gamers.”

Windows 8 Feature Set from Wish List to Reality (Softpedia)
Windows 8 is at that stage in its development process when there are more questions than answers associated with the operating system. But by all means, don’t expect any answers from Microsoft anytime soon. In fact, the company might only open up on the successor of Windows 7 starting with mid-2011, when various third-party sources indicate that a first Beta of the platform will be released.

How to Prevent Users From Creating MySites in SharePoint 2010 (Todd Klindt's SharePoint Admin Blog)
Anyone that I've talked to about SharePoint 2010 knows I like MySites. I think everyone should have a MySite. My cat has two. Unfortunately not everyone agrees with me. About once a week I get asked, "How do I disable MySites? I'm a big meanie." I figured it was time to put this into a blog post, so I don't have to fight back tears every time I have to explain how to do this. I'm tearing up now as I type this.

SharePoint 2010 Project Tasks – Summary Tasks (WorkerThread Blog)
Christophe from PathToSharePoint commented on my previous post, asking “how does SP deal with MS Project summary tasks?”.  I thought I would show what it does here, as it’s quite interesting and illustrates another new feature of the SharePoint 2010 Project Tasks list – the Summary Task content type.

Programmatically Provisioning Variations in SharePoint Server 2010 (Waldek Mastykarz)
Last year I wrote an article about programmatically provisioning Variation Hierarchies in SharePoint 2007. The point of that article was that there was really no way you could provision Variations in repeatable way in a supported fashion and had to use reflection to get the job done. The situation in SharePoint 2010 has changed a little. The process of creating Variations has been made more reliable my moving it completely to a Timer Job. So a new approach, requires new code, and here it is.
