Greetings from SPTechCon!

As it turns out, I may be playing rookie reporter at SPTechCon this week since our lead blogger is currently stuck in D.C. due to the ongoing "snowmageddon." Not only did the D.C. area get 2 feet of snow over the weekend, but what's expected to measure another foot is currently coming down. It will be interesting to see what effect Mother Nature will have had on all of the East Coast travelers hoping to attend SPTechCon this week in San Francisco. I traveled from St. Louis on the same plane as the team from fpweb.net, and we left a few inches of snow and frigid temperatures behind for a sunny clear day in San Francisco.
This is my second year here in San Francisco for SPTechCon. From the long list of media, sponsors and exhibitors, it appears it will be a much bigger conference than last year. That also may be due to the continued success of Microsoft SharePoint and the upcoming release of SharePoint 2010. Several Bamboo Partners will be exhibiting and presenting this year. My earlier post provides details on all of the sessions led by SharePoint 911, and team members from Bamboo Partners RBA Consulting, Ettain Group and Innovative-e will also be presenting sessions this week on subjects including SharePoint 2010 and RMS, Blogging with SharePoint 2010 and the Community Kit, Using Reporting Services and LINQ in SharePoint, Best Practices in Gathering Requirements, and Best Practices in SharePoint User Management.
SPTechCon officially kicked off Tuesday afternoon at the Hyatt Regency Burlingame, CA with early registration open until 7 P.M. There were a few sponsor dinners scheduled, and a Tweet Up in the hotel bar, but what I am really looking forward to is what SPTechCon has in store over the next three days.
